TENIS CAN MISSES
The Can Misses sports complex in the City of Ibiza will feature three new clay courts. Where previously two porous concrete tracks were located, the proposal is presented to increase the extension with a third track, changing rooms, stands and warehouses by the Sports Board.
In one of the sports pitches with the most participation of the island’s native pine trees, the project manages to be modulated respecting each one of them. Given a natural spatial quality, the tennis courts are surrounded by the volumes of changing rooms, and warehouses on their sides, the stands on their short side, and the views of Dalt Vila, on the opposite side.
The entrance to the same enclosure is made through an accessible itinerary under the shade of the pines, until crossing the building of the changing rooms. In this way, it seeks to enhance the concentration of the players and reduce the distractions that can originate in the environment, since the playing field is embraced by the project itself.
Taking advantage of the topography of the environment, the program is developed on a single floor, embedding with the land, implying a low visual impact for the city and the neighbors of the area.
A new space included within the interventions of the City of Ibiza, in its program ‘Eivissa, Ciutat de l’Esport’.
